Inspired by the true story of boxing’s first female promoter, Jackie Kallen, this movie portrays one woman’s endeavor to prove herself in the male-dominated world of boxing. Jackie has loved to watch boxing matches ever since she was a child. In order to get more involved with the sport, she begins her career as a secretary to a local boxing promoter. After several years, she finally gets the opportunity to manage the career of street thug, Luther Shaw. Together with his hard-line coach, Felix Reynolds, Luther shapes up to be a formidable presence in the ring, thanks to Jackie’s tireless efforts to get a number of important fights under his belt. Eventually Jackie manages to upstage even the biggest promoter in the region. Jackie quickly learns to be as ruthless, heartless, and as trash-talking as the men in and around the boxing ring. As fame starts going to her head, will her newfound success betray Luther and Felix, and will she lose the passion and respect she once held for the sport?
